If you have an interest in learning the game of bridge or want to develop your playing, bidding and defense skills, join the Lake Norman Bridge Center. for Duplicate Sanctioned Bridge. All ages and skill levels are welcome. Classes take place at Cornelius Town Hall at 21445 Catawba Avenue.
Lake Norman Bridge Center meets in Community Hall for the following American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned games. All are open to the public but all players should come with a partner. If you have played bridge before but do not have a partner, please contact Marlene Smith at 704-992-1260 at least two days in advance and she may be able to find a partner for you!

Sanctioned GamesA sanctioned game awards master points which are recorded by the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL), which is located in Memphis, TN. The ACBL has several levels of recognition for individuals as they earn points. These levels are: junior master, club master, sectional master, regional master, North American bridge champion master and life master. Other achievement levels are bronze, silver, gold, diamond, emerald and platinum. Most bridge players aspire to become a life master which requires a total of 500 points.

Advanced Class
Instructed by Calvin Manship, this class is recommended for players who are currently playing duplicate bridge or have played social bridge for several years and want to add to their skills. This class will only run once this year so don't miss out!
Mondays for five weeks starting April 15
9 - 11 a.m.
Cost: $60

Beginner Class
Instructed by Steve Hamburg, this class is recommended for players who have only a little knowledge or experience. Learn more about preemptive opening bids, overcalls and advances, takeout doubles and advances, and the competitive auction.
Tuesdays for six weeks starting April 23.
3 - 5 p.m.

Ongoing Weekly Classes for Beginners
We also offer a series of beginners classes for those who want to learn the game of bridge or develop their playing, bidding, and defense skills. We have one mentor game per month where Life Masters play with less experienced players to help them with their game.
