About Us

Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue provides Fire Suppression & Prevention, Emergency Medical, and Rescue services to the Town of Cornelius and surrounding Mecklenburg County. In 2022 we responded to 3,503 calls for service. We respond first due in the Town of Cornelius, and have Automatic and Mutual Aid contracts with the Davidson and Huntersville Fire Departments.

We operate out of two fire houses. Firehouse 1 is located on South Main Street and is first due in areas East of I-77. Firehouse 1 responds second due to Davidson and Huntersville fire districts. Firehouse 2 is located on Charlestown Lane and is first due in areas west of I-77. Firehouse 2 is also second due in the Huntersville fire district. The Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue Department operates four Engine Companies, Two Ladder Companies, one Rescue Company, Two Fire Boats, and one Brush Truck.

The Department is comprised of Part Time, Per Diem and Volunteer Cornelius-Lemley members as well as Full Time members who are employed by the Town of Cornelius. All members work seamlessly together to provide the highest level of care and service to the Town and all those who reside within, and visit us.
