Non-Profit Grants

The Town of Cornelius may offer financial support to North Carolina non-profit corporations that serve the citizens of Cornelius. This support is directed to those agencies focused on arts, history, community, and culture; health, safety, and welfare of citizens in need; and affordable housing. The deadline for applications is January 31 of each year.

Programs 

The Town of Cornelius offers two options for those seeking financial support: 

1. Annual Support Grant:  The Town will consider general funding requests for those agencies serving Town of Cornelius citizens. Awards range from $1 to $50,000. (See Eligibility Requirements and Award Process for Annual Support Grants in the Grant Policy) 

2. Operating Budget Support Grant: The Town will consider requests for operating budget support for those agencies that are headquartered and perform principal business activities within the Town of Cornelius and that regularly provide services to Cornelius citizens. Awards shall not exceed 25% of the operating budget of the eligible applicant. Agencies may participate in only one Grant program each year. 

Project Period 

The funded activities must take place between July 1, and June 30 of each fiscal year. Please note that award notices may not be sent until July of each year.
