On June 23, 2018 members of the Catawba County Sheriff's Department, Cornelius Police Department, Iredell County Sheriff's Department, North Carolina Wildlife Commission, North Carolina Coast Guard Auxiliary, and North Carolina Power Squadron will take part in a joint Lake Safety Day on the waters of Lake Norman.
 
There will be a Press Conference on Tuesday June 19, 2018 at the McGuire Nuclear Station at 10:00 am.  The staging area will be located at the Energy Explorium located at 13339 McGuire Nuclear Station Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078.
