[ARCHIVED] Cornelius Police Promote Sergeant and Communications Supervisor

On April 23, 2018 the Cornelius Police Department promoted a Sergeant and Communications Supervisor.


Patrol Sergeant


Chris Prescott graduated Basic Law Enforcement Training from Mitchell Community College, where he also obtained his Associates Degree. He began his law enforcement career 5 years ago with the Newton Police Department where he served as a patrol officer, K9 officer and worked in an interdiction capacity. He came to work for the Cornelius Police Department in October of 2015 where he served as a patrol officer and a Field Training Officer. He has also obtained his Intermediate Law Enforcement Certificate, which is achieved by years of experience, training and education. In September of 2017 he was promoted to the rank of Corporal where he was responsible for first level supervision of a patrol squad. On April 23, 2018 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and is assigned to the 1st Platoon, B squad.

Communications Supervisor

Lisa Tucker began her career in Public Safety as a Part Time Telecommunicator with Mt. Holly Police in September of 2006 and was hired full time in December of 2006. She came to work for the Cornelius Police Department as a Telecommunicator in August of 2009. She became a Certified Training Officer in July of 2016 and was selected as a Lead Telecommunicator in August of 2017. She was named Interim Communications Supervisor in January of 2018 and was selected as the new Communications Supervisor effective April 23, 2018. She is currently enrolled in a PSAP Managers class to expand her training for her new position.
