[ARCHIVED] Cornelius Police Investigate Armed Bank Robbery

On Monday, December 29, 2014 at approximately at 2:36pm, the Cornelius Police Department received a report of an armed robbery in progress at Carolinas Telco Federal Credit Union, 20221 West Catawba Avenue. The suspect brandished a black handgun and ordered the teller to turn over money to him. The suspect left with an undisclosed amount of money.

Responding officers located a bicycle in the area of the robbery along with some money. It is believed the suspect, described as a white male, 5'10" tall, white male, bald with a white and blue ball cap, beige pants and dark coat, had a vehicle of unknown description waiting behind The Shops at Fresh Market shopping center.
