[ARCHIVED] Officer Browne receives Life Saving Award

Browne Life Saving Award

Officer William Browne responded to a cardiac arrest call at Serenity Point Lane on May 31, 2014. When Officer Browne arrived on the scene, he retrieved the AED from the trunk of his vehicle and ran inside the residence. Once inside, he found Mr. Jack Salzman being attended to by a Cornelius Volunteer Fireman (Mr. John Lang). Mr. Salzman was having trouble breathing and was going in and out of consciousness. Officer Browne attached the AED to Mr. Salzman and applied one shock when the AED advised to shock the patient. Mr. Salzman was later transported to the hospital and made a full recovery.

On Monday, December 1st, Officer Browne received the Life Saving Award for demonstrating a high degree of professional excellence and his quick response to saving a resident.
