[ARCHIVED] Cornelius Police Arrest Suspects in Bank Robbery

Bank Robbery Suspects

On Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at approximately 9:51am, Cornelius Police were dispatched to the Bank of America at 20005 West Catawba Avenue in reference to a robbery in progress. Two black males jumped the counter inside the bank and stole money. They left the scene in a Silver Camaro Convertible with a black top. Witnesses called the police with a description of the vehicle driving erratically. Officers pursued the vehicle towards Huntersville. With the help of the Huntersville and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Departments, the suspects were apprehended near Long Creek Elementary School after they ran from the vehicle.

Cornelius Police have arrested Tamir Dion Simmons (10/26/84) and Donovan Roy Walters (02/09/1994) of Charlotte and charged them each with one count of Common Law Robbery, one count of Conspiracy, and one count of Felony Possession of Stolen Goods.
