Volunteer for Boards & Committees

Citizen input is crucial to Town operations. If you're interested in contributing to your community in an impactful way, apply for one of these three boards.

Architectural Review Board 

The Architectural Review Board is a citizen Board that works with the Cornelius Planning Department and the Board of Commissioners to provide guidance on building design, policies, and standards relating to architecture.  The Town is seeking architects, landscape architects, building designers, or other design professionals that reside in the Town of Cornelius to serve on the Architectural Review Board.  If you are interested in community architecture and meet the above criteria, please apply.  

 

Transportation Advisory Board 

The Transportation Advisory Board is a citizen Board that works with the Cornelius Planning Department and the Board of Commissioners to provide guidance on issues related to transportation, development, and pedestrian/bicycle safety.  If you are a Cornelius resident with an interest in transportation, please apply  

 

Historic Preservation Committee

The Historic Preservation Committee is a citizen Board that works with the Cornelius Planning Department and the Board of Commissioners to preserve Cornelius's rich and significant historical, cultural, and architectural heritage.  The Town is seeking applicants who live, work, or own a business within the Town of Cornelius Corporate Limits or ETJ, or be an interested party in the preservation of Cornelius’ history. If you are interested in local historic preservation and cultural heritage, please apply. 


Land Development Code Advisory Board (LDCAB)  

The Land Development Code Advisory Board (LDCAB) is a citizen Board that works with the Cornelius Planning Department and the Board of Commissioners to review, evaluate, and recommend amendments to the Land Development Code and Town planning processes and procedures. If you are a Cornelius resident interested in serving, please apply.
