As concern about the COVID-19 outbreak continues to grow, the Town of Cornelius has made adjustments to several Town meetings, programs, activities and events.
The Community Shred Event that was scheduled for March 21, 2020 has been cancelled. The Community Shred Event will be rescheduled for a later date that is still to be determined.
The Cornelius Police Department is temporarily suspending the service of taking pre-employment and other non-criminal fingerprints for the public.
We have also made the decision to cancel all of our dates of our Coffee/Q&A with a Cop series for the next few weeks. We will continue this series at a later date as well.
The CPD Traffic Safety Team has also cancelled the dates for the Permanent Child Passenger Seat Checking Station. We are accepting appointments regarding child passenger seat checks. You may schedule an appointment by calling our department at 704-892-7773 and asking to speak with Sergeant J.J. Sarver.
The Bicycle, Pedestrian, and Motorist Safety program originally scheduled for March 26, 2020, May 21, 2020, and July 24, 2020 have also been cancelled.
Town officials are closely monitoring this rapidly changing situation, and will continue to align with the direction provided by government and public health authorities.
