The Cornelius Police and Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture(PARC) Departments will host a National Night Out celebration on Tuesday, August 6, 2018 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at Bailey Road Park, 11536 Bailey Rd.
National Night Out is a FREE event that offers residents an opportunity to meet Local Public Safety Officers and stand together to promote safety, awareness and neighborhood unity. National Night Out is taken part by millions of neighbors across thousands of communities from all fifty states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide on the first Tuesday in August (With Texas celebrating the first Tuesday in October).
The event will include fun for all ages with FREE food sponsored by Mammoth Machine, North Main Financial and Tenders, Pelicans Snowballs sponsored by Lake Norman Chrysler, a Dunkin Donuts Dunk-a-Cop tank, a bounce slide, face painting, and music by Rockie Lynne.
Come explore Cornelius Police vehicles, a Cornelius Fire Department Truck, observe a K9 Officer demonstration and meet community members from Top Deck Foundation, Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Office, Home Depot, plus many more!
The Cornelius Police Department will also be collecting school supplies for the annual Pack the Patrol Car Event during National Night Out. Items collected will be distributed to students at Cornelius Elementary, J.V. Washam Elementary, Bailey Middle and W.A Hough High School. Recommended supplies include paper, pencils, pens, highlighters, notebooks, binders, index cards, tissues, crayons, markers, colored pencils and backpacks.
