The Cornelius Police Department has held swearing in ceremonies for 4 new officers this month. On Monday, October 1, Officer Michael Smith was sworn in. Officer Smith graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) at Mitchell Community College this year.
Officers Steven Sharpe and John Lineberger were sworn in on Monday, October 8. Officer Lineberger graduated from BLET from Gaston Community College in 2008 and was previously employed by Allied Barton. Officer Sharpe also graduated from BLET at Gaston Community College and received his certification in 2012.
Lastly, on Wednesday, October 10, Officer Gary Fournier was sworn in. Officer Fournier completed BLET in 1994 at Robeson Community College and has been in Law Enforcement since 1999.
The Cornelius Police Department welcomes the new officers to the area.
