On Friday, March 22, 2019 at 6:20 PM, Cornelius Police responded to an assault with a weapon call at 9722 Psalms Street. Upon arriving, officers located the victim, Caleb Keller, with a gunshot wound to the neck. The victim was transported to CMC Main and is in serious condition.
During the investigation, Cornelius Detectives learned this was not a random shooting as the victim and suspects knew each other. Two of the three suspects have been arrested and charged in the shooting. Brendan McGlynn and Randy Banks were both arrested by Cornelius Police at McGlynn's residence of 21209 Harken Drive in Cornelius.
On Monday, March 25, 2019, the United States Marshalls were able to locate and detain Jacobi McMillan until Cornelius Police officers were able to take custody of McMillan and transport him to the Mecklenburg County Jail.
All three suspects were charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury and Felony Conspiracy.
