North of Catawba
The North of Catawba walking tour is approximately 1.25 miles. Along the way of this fairly level route (just one hill to climb) you will learn about when and how the Town was incorporated, find out what the Stough-Cornelius Cotton Mill meant to the Town and see homes dating back to 1896.

South of Catawba
The South of Catawba walking tour is also approximately 1.25 miles. Along the way you will learn about when and how the Town was incorporated, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, local historic landmark designations, Olde Mill Village, Gem Yarn Mill, Cotton Gin, the history of Cornelius Elementary and other sites of interest.

The walking tours promote the work of historic preservation, encourages exercise suitable for the entire family, and educates students, residents, and visitors about the evolution of Cornelius.
