They take office the first regular Town Board meeting in December for 2 year terms.
Cornelius operates as a council-manager form of government; that is, the Board of Commissioners establishes the Town's policies which are carried out by the Town Manager and Staff.
The Town Board of Commissioners appoints members of various Town Boards and Commissions such as the Planning Board, PARC Commission and Historic Preservation Commission. If you would like to be considered for one of these Boards or Commissions, complete a Committee Appointment Form and return it to the Town Clerk.
