The Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC) Department works to enhance the lives of citizens and visitors by providing great parks, natural areas and recreational experiences, from sports leagues and fitness classes to summer camps and art classes.  Don't see what you like?  Make a suggestion! 

What’s Happening

2015 Summer Camps Start planning now for our 2015 Summer Camps, with over 140 from which to choose! There are full day, half day and mini camps designed for ages 3-17.
Registration is now open!
Register through 
Friday, March 6, for the spring season of Youth Volleyball. This program for girls 9-18 is a partnership with Huntersville. 
Skills day is Saturday, March 7.

A Morning with the Easter Bunny Drop in to the Cornelius Arts Center on Friday, March 27 for A Morning with the Easter Bunny. Visit with Mr. Bunny and create spring-inspired crafts. 10:00am-12:00pm
Hop Into Spring Join us for our annual Hop Into Spring event on Saturday, March 28, 2:00-4:00pm at Robbins Park, 17738 West Catawba. This free, family event features children's activities, inflatables, concessions, photo opps and more!
Freezing With the extreme cold weather, we are shutting down the restrooms at Bailey Road Park Shelter 1, Robbins Park and Westmoreland Athletic Complex so we can drain the water supply lines to prevent frozen pipes. These restrooms will be closed until further notice.

Smithville Park playground We offer a variety of Parks, Recreation & Arts Centers and Trails & Greenways for your enjoyment. Read more about renting a shelter, field or court.
Robbins Park Trail Robbins Park Phase III:  Pardon our mess while we grow! Construction is underway and for your safety the nature preserve trails and both ponds are closed to the public through April 1, 2015. The tennis courts, playground, picnic shelter/restrooms and multi-purpose field will remain open throughout the construction process. Nearby Jetton and Bailey Road Parks offer walking trails and Ramsey Creek Park and Blythe Landing offer fishing opportunities.
