The Cornelius Parks, Arts, Recreation and Culture (PARC) Department works to enhance the lives of citizens and visitors by providing great parks, natural areas and recreational experiences, from sports leagues and fitness classes to summer camps and art classes.  Don't see what you like?  Make a suggestion! 

What’s Happening

2015 Summer Camps Start planning now for our 2015 Summer Camps, with over 140 from which to choose! There are full day, half day and mini camps designed for ages 3-17.
Registration is now open!
Grand Opening The public is invited to attend the Grand Opening of Robbins Park Phase II on Saturday, April 25, at 10:00am. This new phase includes the renovation of two ponds, paved trails linking Westmoreland Athletic Complex to Robbins Park and the ponds, observation piers, picnic areas, gaga pit and sand volleyball court.
Earth Day Come to beautiful Robbins Park on Saturday, April 25, 10:00am-12:00pm, for our annual Earth Day Celebration. There will be demonstrations, activities, entertainment and more. It's finally spring - get outside!
Spring Art
Explore the Cornelius Arts Centerfeaturing great art exhibits, classes and workshops for all ages!  Spring classes have begun but you can still join - just email us or call us at 704-896-8823. Read more.
Run Jump Throw
Join us at Bailey Road Park Track on Saturday, May 9,
for USA Track and Field's Run, Jump, Throw (formerly known as the Hershey's Track and Field Games). Check-in begins at 9:00am and the event begins at 9:30am. No preregistration - simply sign in onsite. For boys and girls, ages 7-12.
'Tawba Walk Don't miss the next 'Tawba Walk Arts & Music Festival, a multidimensional, eclectic art crawl, which snakes through the heart of Cornelius featuring dozens of local vendors, live street performances, shopping, amazing food trucks and more! On Saturday, May 16, 2:00-8:00pm.
Fitness Classes View our list of Arts, Athletics, Recreation, Special Events and Special Needs Programs.  Register now for the next sessions of our popular fitness classes. We now offer drop-in Cardio Funk and PiYo classes!
Smithville Park playground We offer a variety of Parks, Recreation & Arts Centers and Trails & Greenways for your enjoyment. Read more about renting a shelter, field or court.
Robbins Park Trail Robbins Park Phase II:  Pardon our mess while we grow! Construction is underway and for your safety the nature preserve trails and both ponds are closed to the public through April 24, 2015. The tennis courts, playground, picnic shelter/restrooms and multi-purpose field will remain open throughout the construction process. Nearby Jetton and Bailey Road Parks offer walking trails and Ramsey Creek Park and Blythe Landing offer fishing opportunities.
