Town has completed the construction of a new indoor Animal Shelter. This new shelter provides ample indoor space for dogs and cats, as well as large outdoor play areas. This shelter also has spaces for exams, animal control offices, and adoptions. Over the past few years with the help of many private and public partners the shelter volunteers raised over $350,000 in contributions and the Town was awarded a grant for $25,000 in order to make this shelter project a reality. J.D. Goodrum Company was selected for this project and constructed a top notch facility for the Town. Town celebrated the grand opening of this new facility on September 12, 2009.
