Stand Up Paddleboarding

Introductory Lessons

Learn stand up paddleboarding (SUP) in a safe and controlled environment with experienced and certified paddle instructors. Participants will use top quality, new equipment and will start gliding across the water in no time! Participants will need to wear a bathing suit and bring a towel. For ages 12 to adult*

Lessons include:

  
  • Introduction to your board and paddle
  • Techniques for proper paddling and turning
  • Water safety instruction
  • On-land and on-water instruction

Sunset Paddleboard Tours - NEW!


 
As the sun sets over the lake, colors come alive and the tranquility of the water brings peace to the day. Relax among friends and family and join us as we cruise and explore the waters of Lake Norman as the sun sets to the west. Along the way, participants will have the opportunity to experience the sights and sounds of the lake as it prepares for dusk. This tour is an easy paddle for paddlers of all abilities who want to watch a stunning sunset while on the water! Some SUP experience is required. For ages 12 to adult*

Cost: Per lesson or tour, the Resident Fee is $25 and Non-Resident Fee is $30.  
Location: Aloha Paddle Sports' waterfront location, 17505 W. Catawba Avenue, in the Waterstreet Seaport across from Robbins Park

Participant Requirements (for both lessons & tours):

  • Participants must be able to swim.
  • Participants must weigh between 60-275 lbs., be in reasonably good health and able to stand up from a kneeling position with only the ground as assistance.
  • Participants must sign a liability waiver when they arrive at Aloha Paddle Sports. 

*Must be a minimum of 16 years of age to be without a parent. Participants 12-15 years of age must be accompanied by parent/guardian.
