Talons features the gorgeous and intricate paper-cut work of local artist, Ingrid Erickson. Ingrid spent a year closely studying birds within their habitat at the Carolina Raptor Center to produce this impressive body of work. Each piece is created by hand using an X-acto blade and scissors, with up to several thousand individual cuts per piece. As the artist states, this works seeks to convey “a connectedness to our natural world that is often lost in the frenetic impulses of our daily lives.”
Talons will be on exhibit at the Cornelius Arts Center April 30-July 30, 2016.
